A bit about me........
Born, raised and still living on the South Coast. Educated at Ringwood Grammar School I have spent a working life as an Occupational Skills Trainer, both as a Paramedic Instructor with the NHS Ambulance Service and then as a Mobile Training Unit Instructor with the RNLI Lifeboats, travelling throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland. Although retired from the RNLI as a full time employee I am still a promotional speaker for them in a voluntary capacity.
I have travelled the world both overland and by sea visiting almost one hundred different countries, therefore some of my talks are based on these travels. Some of these journeys have been aboard the famous and the unusual railways around the globe, many have been by road and some even by river.
I present illustrated talks and lectures to Group Meetings, Private Functions and for After Dinner Entertainment. Up until now they have mostly along the South Coast and the Home Counties but I can travel any distance if the circumstances are right. There is a list of preprepared, fully illustrated, talks under the heading Example Talks and these can be given at short notice
Under RNLI Promotional Talks, I give a presentation pre-prepared by the RNLI as a fund raising activity. I make no charge for this with the money raised going direct to the RNLI Lifeboats. I also have my own talk about my own experiences of many years working with the boats and their crews. These I have with me at all times, even at sea.
Port Lectures come with experience of presentations given aboard ship to passengers and guests describing the the ports to be visited. These are individually researched and prepared before sailing to give the history and culture, as well as illustrating the city or region. The same is for Destination Talks which are prepared for the tourist industry for presentation at exhibitions or at the tour destination.
I can also prepare PowerPoint illustrated talks on any subject for promotional events
